Judge Lee Wilson

Judge Lee Wilson began his path as a child growing up in Millington during the tumultuous late 1960s and early 1970s. His parents insisted that a good education was the way forward to make positive change in our community. After high school Lee enrolled in Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he received a degree in Political science. After attending law school at the University of Pittsburgh, he returned to Memphis to begin an exciting career.

Lee Wilson practiced in the historic law firm of Stokes, Wilson, Wright along with retired Judges Jerry Stokes and Glenn Wright.

For the last 30 years, Judge Wilson served the courts of Shelby County as an Assistant District Attorney, a Public Defender, Divorce Referee, Lead Judicial Commissioner, and a Judge.

Along with the Shelby County Commission and our state legislators, Judge Wilson reestablished the Shelby County Domestic Violence Court in 2009 and was elected in 2022 to continue the great work of the Shelby County Drug Court which was established by Judge Tim Dwyer in 1997.

Judge Lee Wilson has been married to Vanessa Wilson for nearly four decades. He is the proud father of Dr. Taylor Wilson Norphlet.
